Mahala is a member in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Nova
Scotia and completed her training to become a Registered Massage Therapist at the
Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in Fredericton, New Brunswick. While there
she received additional training in joint mobilizations, manual lymphatic drainage,
myofascial release, treatment of scar tissue, and breast massage. Since graduating in
2020, she has worked at clinics across Atlantic Canada before she and her young
family came to settle in the beauty of Cape Breton Island. Her passion is perinatal
care and has specialized massage training in pregnancy, post-natal, high risk
pregnancy, infant and child, labour support education (as a doula), and completed
her final case study on the reduction of endometriosis symptoms.

She is in her fourth and final year towards earning her diploma of Osteopathic
Manual Practice. This has allowed her to further her understanding about the bodies’
interrelationships and how its structures and movement patterns can contribute to
discomfort or dysfunction. Her treatments involve gentle manual techniques that
help improve joint mobility, release soft tissue tension, and encourage better balance
throughout the body.

As a mother, she has a special interest in helping women through pregnancy, women
and babies recover from childbirth, treat cesarean sections, babies achieve mobility
milestones, aid in feeding difficulties, correct torticollis, mitigate digestive issues,
and improve women’s overall health.
